Lavinia told Lenore to leave. I remained on my knees staring at the floor, my left hand throbbed and swelled. I had no idea how much remained of my ear. The side of my face and neck was caked with blood. Lavinia said, “Get up and go sit in the chair.” I complied. She didn’t say anything for a very long time, she stared at me; rather, she stared through me. I felt nauseated, disoriented and exhausted. Finally, she rose from her chair and said, “Follow me.”

I followed her out of the office and through a door across the hall. As soon as she opened the door I was assaulted by the horrendous odor. She pulled me into the room. I heard noises in the darkness, it sounded like a dog whimpering. The light came on, I vomited on the floor. Lavinia laughed, “Clarence, I’d like to introduce you to one of my other slaves. Clarence, this is Alfred; Alfred, Clarence. My mind refused to believe that the wriggling ball of flesh on the floor was actually a human being. Alfred lay flat on his back, naked on the floor in a pool of urine and feces. He had no arms, legs, genitals, nose, lips, tongue, teeth or ears.

Lavinia grabbed a leather strap that hung on the wall, “Alfred holds a special place in my heart. He was my first slave. I guess you could say that I love him in a way. You see, I’ve had sort of a troubled history with my slaves. I have needs that go beyond what the human body can survive. Alfred here, he’s an exception. I’ve been able get several years of enjoyment out of him.”

She stood over the helpless creature, leather strap in hand. “Clarence, I’ve been toying around with the idea of utilizing my slaves in ways that could be more beneficial to me in the long run.” She suddenly began lashing Alfred on the chest and stomach with the strap. She breathed heavily, sweat beads dotted her brow.

“You see Clarence, I love doing this, I really do. But I feel like I’m limiting myself. Here, look at this.” She opened a closet door and clicked on the light. “Come here Clarence.” I looked in the closet. The closet was empty except for a shelf full of jars. As I looked at those jars my mind kept saying, ‘Sausage, those are sausages.’ My eyes saw the objects in the jars for what they were, preserved human penises.

Lavinia turned off the light and shut the door, “The thing is that I can’t get aroused, and I definitely can’t have an orgasm, unless I’m tearing someone apart. Most importantly, you will do exactly what I tell you to do and look out for my interests at all times. I won’t be standing over you with a whip, you will often need to act on your own initiative. Also, never, ever try to withhold anything from me. Assume I know everything that you know. For example, I know Evelyn freaked out and killed a man before being shot by the woman who brought you here. I know she took that wife as a slave and that she set those thugs up to take the blame for the bodies. I know that Selene sees you as a conquest, and she is trying get you off the table by taking possession of you. I also know that Black Sally is courting you to be a pawn in the coup she is planning to attempt. Would you say that I’m up to speed?”

“Good. It’s your job to make sure it stays that way. Selene is like Cinderella in armor. Hold the glass slipper up to her visor and she’ll drop her defenses. When that happens, I’ll give you the opportunity to turn the tables on her and make her a victim of her own game. Your main focus needs to be on Sally. “If you fuck up, if you fail to carry out my orders, if you ever disobey me or hide anything from me, I’ll remove you from my newly created class of privileged slaves and you will become another one of my common slaves. I will break you Clarence, just like Alfred; just like the original owners of those dicks in the jars. Could she really read my thoughts? The thought caused me to panic. Does she already know everything about me? In her heart, she yearns for someone to come along and take that club out of her hands, hold her, comfort her, recognize the need for love that she keeps buried deep inside and make her believe you love her for he she is.
